Technical Plating and
Rubber’s ISO (International Standards Organization) History
Before ISO 9002 Certification, Technical Plating and
Rubber, Inc. had effective quality management as evidence
shown by: (1) Zero plating defects achieved at our largest
customer for five consecutive years and (2) Customers
awarded us “Supplier of the Year” and “Most Valued
Supplier”.
Actually, ISO Certification was not needed for quality
improvement, but Technical Plating became certified in 1998.
Getting our ISO Certification caused us to think deeply
about our production lines which enhanced our quality
management systems.
The President, with 26 years of General Electric training
plus manufacturing experiences as Manager of Quality
Control, Production Operations, and Product Engineering,
helped Technical Plating’s business move ahead. Our factory,
equipment, and plating capacity have significantly advanced
over the past 23 years. Technical Plating has automatic
controllers on every plating line. Our process control
laboratory is fully equipped and meets every need for six
plating lines. We have two lines each for Zinc and Tin
Plating, and Technical Plating also has excellent Silver and
Copper Plating. Our employees are extremely competent and
experienced. A new improvement idea on one plating line can
cause innovation for our other plating lines.
Technical Plating’s ISO Manual was developed by a team
consisting of the General Manager, Process Control Manager,
and President. This Manual was custom designed for achieving
consistent high plating quality. It meets or exceeds every
aspect of the ISO 9002 standard. Traceability to laboratory
process control data, and production quality data are
complete for each production lot. Technical Plating’s ISO
Certification was achieved on the first audit, and we were
in the first 7% of Platers' in the United States to be
awarded our ISO Certification.
The scope of our ISO 9002 System was enlarged to include
our environmental management systems at its origin. Our ISO
9002 system, including continual improvement on all things,
will always meet the Quality Management needs of Technical
Plating and Rubber’s and our broad customer base
representing many industries. |
